Just wanted to leave you with an amazing video of a cover of the Dexter intro. I love the series and have been keeping up with them since the start. Enjoy.

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before but I have applied for the Criminal Justice Honor Society. It is open for Criminal Justice Majors and Minors whose GPAs exceed of a 3.2 overall and a 3.2 on CJ courses alone. You must also have a completion of at least 4 CJ courses. I believe that Professor Morris is in charge of the applications and all.
Well for the first time since my application (which was not long ago at all) I received an invitation from Professor Morris to go to a presentation of 3 ex-convicted people about reinseration to society. The presentation was quite interesting and we got to ask about the different programs and lifestyle that are offered to these individuals in and outside of prison.
It was not until now that I realized that the Criminal Justice Honor Society has a lot to offer and I look foward to get more experiences like these, after all, that is what college is for!

I was formerly invited to attend the private dinner with John Douglas and a few of faculty members at Sacred Heart University before we were able to see his presentation about criminal profiling.
The picture is phone quality so don't mind it.
Before the dinner I was able to squeeze in an autograph from him. It was a great experience and an incredible honor meeting a man that truly describes what I want to study and work for the rest of my life.

Listen, if you aren't from the upper east of the US and you aren't sure if you should go to school here or not, let me tell you...
Halloween here is by far the best in the whole country. You actually see the leaves turn and you actually feel the cold slowly sweeping in. It gets beautiful and so does the holiday spirit. I actually have a neighbor who is a retired veteran and loves his Halloween season. He seriously goes all out and decorates not only the house, but the yard. He makes a cemetary that looks so creepy and realistic. He has all these tombstones surrounding a tree where a skeleton is hanging from. It is actually quite creative.
I haven't gotten to decorating my house yet but I'm getting there. I might post pictures later. My favorite part of it all is the pumpking carving! I love getting created with that. I also love being home at like 7pm on Halloween and give out candy to the little kids running around my street. Since I live in a dead end street and my house is the last house on the left, I can actually see little kids running around playing with each other asking their parents if they can start eating their candy. It is pretty magical and such a great American tradition! Well tomorrow I'll start my Halloween decoration, wish me luck!

If you are interested in Criminal Justice, join the club! No reall, join the club at Sacred Heart University! It is mentored by Professor Grant and is bound to be amazing! If you are still undecided about what major you choose once you get to college or even right now, then try it out. If you are not sure, just try out different things until you find what you like. In any event, I've been working on my Forensic Psychology blog and here I leave you with its link.

I have created a new Blog that is a reflection of the studies I would like to pursue. In other words, it is a blog that tries to approach the Psychocriminology field (Psychology and the Criminal Justice mashed into one making Forensic Psychology).
It is in no way professional but it attempts to be educational. It's a student blog so it is advised that all resources should be reviewed before reading the posts. In case anyone is interested:

In case anyone wonders what there is to do around Sacred Heart University, well let me tell you!
It depends on what type of person you are. If you are into music and art you get the opportunity to see a live band at least every year in Sacred Heart. I remember when bands like Kid Cudi and other major hits would throw a commotion in our school. They are our generation's influences and we get to experience them right in our home.
We also get colloquias. They are created in a variety of topics ranging from any and every subject and given by elite and experienced people. When I say experienced I mean someone who was actually there. I talk about this because Sacred Heart creates lectures for every taste and I must say, they hit the jackpot with mine.
There was no way that I would pass by without acknowledging the fact that Sacred Heart has given me a great opportunity to meet John Douglas in person and listen to his own lecture. As for the people that do not know who John Douglas is, I encourage you to read any of his books, including "Mind Hunter". If you are a psychological thriller movie kind of person and actually loved movies like Silence of the lambs, well get a hold of your seats ladies and gentlemen, this is Jack Crawford himself. The man who gave the meaning to the concept of Criminal profiling. The man behind the true concept of the hit tv show "Criminal Minds".
Now, for someone who has been awfully excited about this, I do want to be a a forensic psychologist. Profiling is part of the job even though it is not the entire description. It is also not like these tvs shoes and movies make it out to be. It is though and not always that reliable, but with a big professional and talented profiler like John Douglas, the chance for success is inclining in his favor.
I encourage you to take a look at his profile and take a peak for his lecture if you are free, he might interest you.
The lecture date is October 25th at 7pm in the Edgerton theater. I hope to see you there!

Well, my career goal and actual passion is to become a forensic psychologist. I've known about this passion since sophmore year of high school when I read a book called "Basic Instincts". I am fascinated by the human mind and the abnormality side of it. I am mostly fascinated about the criminal mind. I have all these goals set and one of them is to be working at the psychology department at a police station.
I am now engaged and planning on moving to Portugal and my career goal was to become a forensic psychologist in their biggest police department. In order to do that, I'd like to go prepared, gain some experience. I was wondering about trying to intern in a police station here in order to gain some experience for the career I'd like to pursue. I am very excited about the options I have out there and I cannot wait to feel apart of the criminal and psychology system, for I'd like to pursue the career where they both work as one.

So basically I have been reading posts on 9/11 this morning and my condolences to those who lost family and friends in that tragic day. I also will do something different today. Instead of telling you where I was on that tragic day (I was home scared and shocked looking at the television) I will talk about how I spent 9/11 a year after.
I was in middle school and we were all called into the auditorium. All the kids were asked to hold hands and make a chain all around the school corridors and around the school itself. It was beautiful. In that exact moment, we were given a moment of silence and prayer. It was a really beautiful moment.
The years that passed by, everyone has been talking about other terrorist attacks in the following anniversaries of 9/11, and as a New Yorker... it was scary spending every year of high school in Manhattan, probably skipping 9/11 and going to my country house in CT. (I went to high school in the upper East side of Manhattan.) It is tough and scary I know that much.
