To my oh so unpleasant surprise Fairfield, CT woke up to snow on the ground Monday morning. UGH! What is with the weather!? I then proceeded to drive to my internship in hail! In my opinion, it is way too early for snow and these Antarctic temperatures!! I hope the temperature keeps going up like the forecast is predicting so we can get some nice autumn weather in!
So in the last week, besides from this dreadful weather, A LOT has gone on! (ofcourse, never a dull moment at SHU!)
I went to a hockey game at the MIP (for those of you non-shu'ers reading, thats the milford ice pavillion) It was a little bit of an adventure getting there, even with my GPS!! The MIP is a nice arena and there was soo much school spirit! I never realized how brutal hockey is!! While the guys were yelling and cheering I was cringing as guys got slammed into the walls of the rink! Crazy stuff! These athletes have a lot of endurance that is so respectable!
On Wednesday, I got an email that my family sent me a midterm package! I was so excited. I didn't need a gift to remind me how much they love and miss me but it really was nice! I went to pick it up on campus before one of my classes and I got some school essentials (pens, highlighters, notecards), some snacks, a tote bag AND best and most cheesy of all, a SHUGGIE!! (aka a snuggie with the shu colors and logo) Yes, i know youre dying for a picture upload. Try not to laugh to hard...
Also, Saturday night I took it upon myself to go home for the night. This is unusual for me but my mom was flying home from Colorado from a wedding and I wanted to pick her up at the airport with my Dad and sister. That is one of my favorite aspects of SHU, how close it is to home. I was able to just decide last minute to drive home for the night!! This is the case for a lot of students here since most of the student population here is NY, NJ, CT, MA and RI.
But on a more important note. Tonight the Marketing Club had a meeting. The clubs on campus really aren't just "do-nothing" clubs, they really get involved on campus and in the community. We brainstormed some awesome ideas!! Also, the Marketing Club is supporting and Promoting the Make-A-Wish Foundations Macy's Believe campaign because one of our exec board members is interning for Make-A-Wish, pretty awesome right!? If you don't know what this is, it is basically a huge fundraiser that Macy's does for M-A-W, for every letter written to Santa, Macy's will donate one dollar to Mae-A-Wish! How exciting is that!!? If you want to participate, check out this link!!

When you declare a major at SHU make sure to join the perspective club or others just for fun!
And last but not least,my long overdue picture of my room in my college house!! (okay so its a little bit messy, but its college, what do you expect!)
Have a good week! Drop some comments or questions about SHU!
