Though this semester seems to be flying by (I can't believe that it is November!) It seems that the workload just keeps piling up! Today I had two case studies due for class and a presentation. I think its safe to say that I'm glad my classes for the day are OVER! phew!
So in the recent past I made a life changing decision. It may sound silly, but in reality what you major in in college defines what you do for the rest of your life (unless you go back to school ofcourse). I've always been sort of an overachiever and have had 7million major/minor combinations, but about a week ago I decided that Accounting wasn't for me.
Now for those of you who don't remember, I was a double major in Accounting and Marketing. Marketing is my passion and Accountancy, in my eyes, was a safe bet to having a job in this economy when I graduate in May of 2012. Accounting is hard stuff and you really have to like it to be able to endure it day to day. I was doing well in my accounting classes but I was always thinking to myself, why am I subjecting myself to this when I only want to work in the Marketing field? Finally, I stopped subjecting myself to accounting and undeclared my major in it and withdrew from my two courses. Disappointingly enough, the day of my withdrawal I received an email from one of the big 4 accounting firms and two days later from another one. Imagine my disappointment, I had to tell them that I was no longer eligible as I was no longer an accounting major. MAJOR BUMMER :o( but life goes on and everything happens for a reason...or at least thats what i believe! I will pursue a successful marketing career (one can only hope) and I will search for a new combination of double majors and concentrations! (I know, I need to relax!)
But that aside...my Internship is going great! I know you were wondering! I got to sit in a conference call last Friday with an inquiring company. It was a really great experience, my supervisor is so great and lets me take part in everything that she does. It is truly a great experience. Next on this weeks line up of work is looking into SEO. Search Engine Optimization, something that is crucial in the marketing or businesses. We're trying to get our company on the map, big time!
This past Tuesday SHU Force dance ensemble had its annual kickoff fundraiser. Another great success!! The team looked great and all of the other teams who came to dance were awesome too!! Fairfield Remixx team was my personal favorite, they really know how to "whip their hair back and forth". I was definitely sore the next day from all of the kicking but it was well worth it and it was GREAT to see the auditorium packed for our event!
on a sidenote:
Just a little tip. These crazy changes in weather have been causing my whole house to get sick constantly! :o( It is so dreadful, BUT i found that if you take a decongestant the first day you feel icky and some dayquill/tylenol daytime you'll find that you really don't get such a bad cold or one at all. Anything to keep us healthy, we all know that schoolwork doesn't wait for us to feel better!
And to all you Seniors in HS reading out there, how are your applications going? I know the deadlines for many schools are coming up soon! Early decision for SHU is December 1st but that is a binding contract and then otherwise we have rolling admissions. Heres the link if you want to apply now!:

let me know if you have any questions at all, I'd love to answer them!!
and i'll just leave you all off with a beautiful picture of the autumn leaves on my drive home from my internship yesterday. Yes, I was driving, but no, there were no cars on the road...enjoy!
