After Thanksgiving we all got our fill of family and friends at home and it was back to SHU for more fun and studying!! Its funny how when you live with your friends at school they really become like family and you miss them so much in the short amount of time that you're gone! Living with 7 other girls means that theres never a dull moment, theres always something to do and someone to do it with so even when theres nothing to do during a rainy day you always have each other! Its one of the things i've grown to appreciate most about college.
With winter approaching and the Holiday season at its best, everyone is getting excited! One of the girls that I live with is Jewish (though Sacred Heart is a Catholic school, anyone of any religion can attend!) Hannukah began a few nights ago so we wanted to celebrate for her, so we made a minorah (our best attempt)! Also, Chartwells, the school food service also helped celebrate Hannukkah by serving special holiday meals! Everyone gets so festive!
Although Christmas is a few weeks away, the roads and stores are already packed! Thats my least favorite part about the holidays, but none the less I love the holiday cheer, spirit and music! Has anyone heard the Lady GaGa song Christmas Tree? Its about two years old now, but its so riskay, i cant believe its a christmas song!
With the Holidays coming SHU has also prepared "Winter Week", just another way for students to have fun and stay active on campus! Winter week this years includes gingerbread cookies, a trip to NYC (for only 10 bucks!), trip to Woodbury commons, snow globe pictures, holiday karaoke, christmas tree lighting and holiday bingo!! Always something to do at SHU (if you have time with all of the finals coming up! yipes!)
Well, I have to go start one of my three presentations due this week...procrastination seems to be high among everyone right now because of the holidays!!
Post any questions! Christina
