"So in looking to stray from the line/ we decided instead/ we should pull out the thread that was / stitching us into this tapestry vile,/And why wouldn't you try?/ Perfect weather to fly."
-Elbow, Perfect Weather to Fly
So lately, the weather has been perfectly reflecting the frenzy of my life--- it can't seem to decide what season it is and whether or not it's going to cooperate. Last week, it snowed. It was rainy and disgusting one day, and sunny the next. This weekend was the same-- pouring and miserable on Saturday, but absolutely gorgeous Sunday and yesterday. And then I wake up this morning to the sound of rain once again.
And as for my plans for the future? One day, I'm all about going into sports broadcasting (we filmed the women's volleyball game this weekend for my sports TV broadcasting class) and the next, I'm thinking about just standard journalism (my professor in another class, multimedia production, was a producer at NBC and his stories and experiences make me want to do the same things). Then there's the idea of volunteering after graduation-- Peace Corps and AmeriCorps are great ways to make the world a better place while still getting benefits I won't have if I can't find a job after I graduate. And what about graduate school? Am I making the right choice by going right into the working world rather than getting my masters?
Either way, I'm sure I'll be doing something I'll enjoy, but it's pretty stressful when deciding what I'm going to be when I grow up--- especially if I'm going to "grow up" in a few months! For now, I'm exploring all of my options and weighing them all carefully, and just trying to enjoy my senior year!
This weekend, I just hung around and worked on homework, and of course, watched the Yankees win the ALCS series. World Series, HERE WE COME!
