This week I had the pleasure of reading to students enrolled in the Horizons at SHU enrichment program. It’s an annual event that I always look forward to. This year’s story was The Curious Garden, and they were a great audience. Afterwards, they took part in a dance party and cooled down with some ice cream. It was a fun morning!
Earlier this week, SHU’s Jack Welch College of Business started its Summer Institute for Global Business Management. Undergraduate students as well as an international cohort of 50 students from China and India came to SHU to participate in the four-week program that provides practical framework for understanding the key dimensions critical to effective global business management while emphasizing the most pressing current challenges faced by global business leaders. Over the next few weeks, students will be engrossed in an intensive curriculum and will visit multinational companies, the New York Stock Exchange and much more.
For the past two Thursdays, our Alumni Association has continued hosting some wonderful evening gatherings as part of their Summer Series. A group of alumni met in Boston last week, and yesterday Pioneers met up in Long Island for drinks and food. It’s a great time to catch up with classmates and reminisce. Next week, they’ll get together in New Haven.
I am pleased to share that Sacred Heart was ranked in LendEDU as one of the best colleges that offer financial aid to international students. It’s a wonderful recognition of our inclusive culture. To learn more about the rankings, click here.
Register now for the Fairfield County Corporate 5K Fun Run on Thursday, July 28. This is the third year SHU will participate in the event held at Cranberry Park in Norwalk. Participants can walk or run the 3.1 miles. This is a great way to strengthen the bonds between you and your coworkers. To register, click here.
Stay cool and have a wonderful weekend!
