Hard to believe

Hard to believe that I am coming to an end with my junior year of college. This realization did not come to me until I clicked the "submit" button when registering for my senior year classes. I remember coming to visit Sacred Heart for the very first time and sending my application hoping to soon be accepted. Its hard to believe that I am soon to be entering my senior year and even harder to believe that my little brother, who will always remain 14 years old in my book, is about to send his college application out to Sacred Heart as well.

 

While this thought of becoming a senior is scary, its also very exciting. I am definitely looking forward to ending off my Junior year with great memories, and creating great new ones next year.

HELLO spring semester!

HI GUYS!

yikes, sorry it has been forever! Last semester really got the best of me... taking 18 credits was definitely a handful. 

So where do I even begin?!

How was everyones winter break!? Mine was great! Went by way to quickly but I am definitely happy to be back at SHU with everyone!

This semester I am taking 18 credits ... again, so it should be another busy one. But I am so glad that its Spring semester and can not wait until this snow is gone. I am already ready for the nice weather! 

Main focus of the semester : GETTING A SUMMER INTERNSHIP!!!!

I am so anxious to get an internship for this summer. I have sent a bunch of resumes out to magazines and small companies and now hoping for the best! I cant wait to have hands on experience in the industry that I love!

Twitter Craze

Okay, so I know that Twitter has been around for a while now... but its only recently that I have been hearing and learning about it on a daily basis. Twitter is being used , not only as a way to connect with friends, but as a way for big companies to get their messages out there. Companies such as CNN, NYC JOBS, People, and US weekly all have Twitter accounts and update their pages daily, if not hourly to connect with their followers. Twitter seems to be the newest and quickest way of advertising and marketing. In todays day an age, its all about the newest technology and what is the best way to connect with people... and the internet is by far the fastest way.

I have had a Twitter account for a while now, but was only using it to follow my favorite celebrities, but now after learning about it, and realizing how many opportunities and information flies across Twitter I have been logging into my account more than just once in a while.

First Week of School

WOW what a hectic first week of school, ( hoping everyone survived). Trying to get back into the swing of things has been overwhelming! While the first week back was stressful.. it was also a very fun one. Reuniting with friends, and settling into our new house has been exciting. One of the best things about our house is our beautiful backyard! With the weather getting nicer, yet chillier, my friends and I have spent most of our time barbecuing and enjoying the fall weather.

As far as school goes, IM TAKING 18 credits... eek should be interesting, and on top of that, I'm very involved this semester. Last year I wrote for our school newspaper, "Spectrum" and now I have the job of assistant advertising manager, which consists of getting companies around Fairfield to place ads in the paper.  Nicole, who is the advertising manager, and I have slowly started to get the hang of what are job entails. Right now its been crazy, but Im looking forward to all the new things I will learn, by having this job.

goodbye home, hello sacred heart!

I could say it over and over again, but ... Summer flew by. While I am incredibly excited to start up my SHU lifestyle soon again, I will miss home and the friends that come along with it. Tonight my best girlfriends and I had our ... what I guess we could call.. " Our Last Supper." Our close knit group, keeps in touch all year long, and when we come home to spend time with one another, its usually over a meal, and well... tonight was our last meal before we each headed our way into our Junior year of college. Tonight, we basically discussed just that, JUNIOR YEAR! We kept thinking how crazy time has gone by, reminiscing about how nervous we all were to leave for our Freshmen year, and all the things we have done, and accomplished since then, which then leaded into our conversation about how next summer we will all be the BIG 2-1, and of course how we plan to go visit eachother at all our different schools to celebrate this fabulous age!! After tonight I realized how lucky I am to have such great friends, both at Sacred Heart and at home, in lovely Franklin Lakes, NJ. .... In other words, basically the point of this post is to all the incoming Freshmen, that while you may be so nervous to start up your new life at Sacred Heart, if your lucky to have great friends like I do, your highschool life will still be there when you return home. Tonights dinner with my friends reminded me how nervous we all were and how scared we were of change, when really we had worked ourselves up over nothing.. plus we have all made amazing school friends! Best of Luck to all you incoming Freshmen! Be prepared for an awesome year!

Can you believe it ?

Well summer has quickly come... and has now almost left us. Soon people will be making there trips to Staples getting school supplies and ordering their books for their classes. Its safe to say that summer time is way to short! As much as summer has given me time to relax and enjoy days at the beach with family and friends, this upcoming year is going to be possibly one of the best and I am looking forward to it everyday. For one, my best friends and I are going to be living in a HOUSE ! Yes.. thats right a house, no more college dorms, and RAs, we are big girls now and have a house to ourselves!  For the majority of the summer, we have been making trips to our new home, decorating, painting and getting it 100 percent ready for our arrival at the end of August. While living in a house sounds sooo awesome ( which it is ) it is going to be very different than the past 2 years. It will be a very fun and interesting experience to be cleaning our own house, and remember to shut all the lights off when leaving a room ... because unlike last year and the year before.. we now have bills to pay!

Anywayyyss, I hope everyones summer has been fabulous! and I hope everyone is looking forward to a great year, enjoy this last month and the lovely weather it brings, because soon its going to be Fall and cold!

spring fever

This time of year is always the craziest, tomorrow I will be registering for classes, and hoping there is still room in the classes I want/need. On top of registering, finals are coming up, and finals projects and paper due dates are right around the corner.With only 3 more weekends left at school, it is extremely hard to concentrate on school work! Sundays are usually left to be the day to spend hours on homework, so the weekends can be dedicated to fun spring events! Today my friends and I have visited both the library and the mahogany room, putting long hours into work and counting down the days till the weekend!

MUST SEE MOVIE!

Whoever has not seen the movie the Blindside, must must must go rent it! It is awesome! 
 

HAPPY EASTER!

happy easter everyone! I cant believe it is already easter and the weather is better than ever! After all the rain we were having, I was sure the sun would come shining bright again! 

Being home for Easter break has been great. Seeing my home friends and family is always the greatest! Last night my friends and I had a barbeque at my house and watched the basketball games, it was good to see everyone and catch up :)

officially spring!

I hope everyone has been enjoying this beautiful weather, because I know I sure am! One of the greatest aspects of going to Sacred Heart, is the beach in Fairfield. On any nice day you can be sure to find me there. This weekend my friends and I went to the beach, and then to the Sacred Heart Baseball game vs UCONN.  Unfortunately, we lost, but it was still a great day to watch a baseball game.

One of our friends also had a barbeque which was fun to be outside all day long. It got me extremely excited to have a house next year, especially since we have a huge backyard!

Also, I am super excited because I got a position on the Spectrum ( our school newspaper ) as Assistant Advertising Manager! I couldn't be more excited, because advertising is exactly what I want to do, and it will be fun to have a little insight as to what I want to do when I graduate.

Well the weekend is over :( and now its back to homework!
