So..I've been at SHU for almost a month, crazy, right? A lot has happened in the past few weeks that I'm sure you are all dying to hear ;) I can't believe its already September...I can smell fall. It's going to be the perfect weather for jeans, sweatshirts, and of course, pumpkin spice latte's!
My last blog post stated that I am a SHU cheerleader, and I am sad to report I had to leave the squad :( I felt as though with the schedule I wasn't going to be able to fit in study time, and time to work (I got a work study job!! Details will follow in a minute!) It was most challenging decision I have ever had to make in my entire life. But, I'm hoping it is for the best.
So, while I am no longer cheering I got a work study job at an elementary school in Bridgeport, and I am so excited to start. I start my training at the end of the month, and then I start in the school in October! (If you didn't know, I am planning on being a teacher, so this job is most definitly my cup of tea!) While I do plan on teaching high school history, I believe working with the little kids will be a lot of fun!
With the goal of being a teacher, I am hoping to apply for SHU's 5 year MAT program. (With this program I would graduate with my bachelors in history, masters in education and my teaching certification!) I just learned that I have to take the praxis I exam this year (which is what most teachers take after the graduate from college...so after their 4 years. But I'll be taking mine now..so this is going to fun ahhaha!) I'm actually really excited! Wish me luck.
Until next time :D
Very well written post. It will be valuable to anybody who utilizes it, as well as myself. Keep doing what you are doing – for sure i will check out more posts.
