The Ryan-Matura Library is currently slated for substantial renovation of the library's main floor during the summer of 2011. Later renovations of the lower floor and the upper floor are also under consideration.
The new main floor will have more, substantially improved student seating, a coffee bar area, more group studies, better lighting, and more comfortable seating.
Consequently the library will have to vacate the main floor by May 2o --library staff are busy planning how to maintain library services even now. Several changes will be coming to the lower library floor in the next few months:
- Temporary office spaces will be created in the area of the group tables in the northwest corner of the lower floor;
- Wiring will be installed in the individual studies and along the east wall (bordering the Schine Auditorium);
- Shelving will be re-arranged in several areas to accomodate the temporary service spaces and work spaces the library will need during the coming summer.
More updates on library renovation plans and other news will be posted here in coming week.
