Before I begin to tell you about my new home I want to introduce myself. My name is Danielle and I am a marketing and finance double major junior at Sacred Heart. I am a member of Dance Team and Student Ambassador.
It has been a jam packed few days. We've already had luggage get lost, we've been lost on the bus system here, and going to the most creepy doctors office I have ever seen. Adjusting to the country is going to be hard.
At first the bus system is hard to understand. Everything is in French or German, and if you don't know what part of Luxembourg you are going to it can be hard to get around. Our first night traveling out on our own we took the bus back from downtown. We went past our stop and went past the airport into the farm country. We thought that the bus would turn around, but it didn't. So here we are waiting by a bus stop at close to 9:00 at night waiting for a bus that we weren't sure was coming. Don't worry! It did come. After an hour or so the bus came and we got home by 10:30 that night. It was a hilarious night and quite a story to tell. I think we handled the situation very well to be honest. We had a blast.
We had to go to a doctor in order to get our visas approved. We took the bus to downtown and walked up winded stairs in a Luxembourg apartment building to see a doctor that works with the school. He had a studio apartment with a little doctors office. It was completely fine, but if you went into something like that in the US, that would not be ok. It was just so different.
It is absolutely beautiful here, though. You see the history in the architecture mixed with new modern buildings. When we had our full tour of Luxembourg City we were able to just walking around and take in the differences between Europe and the US.
Even though we've made a few mistakes with certain things the first few days, we are learning a lot. We are having a blast and I will keep you guys updated on everything!!! :D
