Near the End!

Heyy everyone!

So it hit me that school is almost done. There is only about three weeks left and some of my teachers have already started discussing last day of classes and finals. I have a lot planned once classes are over. Well I have Bermuda, which I am all set for, I paid the last deposit. I get to move into my house with my friends as soon as June 1st. I don't know if I am going to start living there that early, but I am going to start moving some stuff in, that way I can move in a little at a time, and make it easier than a one day move. I also am excited because I already have plans to go and visit my friends over the summer. One of my friends is having a party for her birthday, so it's going to be a whole weekend event with all of my friends just celebrating together and hanging out for a few days. That should be lots of fun. The only thing that is still up in the air is a job for the summer. Worse senario is that I go back to Blockbuster, which is better than no job at all so at least I will be doing something.

So it's registration week and I already registered for most of my classes for the fall. I am taking an online screenwriting course, Musicianship I, Bach to Bethoven, guitar lessons, digital editing, and hopefully a computer desgin class which I am waiting to get permission for to register. Then in the spring I am taking romantic comedy in tv/film, senior seminar, guitar ensemble, guitar lessons, contemporary american novel, and special effects and motion graphics. Next year shouldn't be that bad. This current semester is the busiest one I've had yet, and I don't plan on repeating it. I was so happy to see, or lack there of, web advisor freezing. I didn't have any problems registering and the website didn't crash, unlike last year, this year it was so easy, I actually registered on time. I register for the spring semester on the 17th. I actually really like the classes I'm signing up for, I don't feel like I got stuck taking anything.

Well time to go, got to go practice my guitar because I haven't done that yet. Oops. Later! Keep Li/oving.

Life is good.

So, lets see what is new. Well I've been looking for a place to live next year, because I don't want to live on campus next year. My rommates and I found this great place. I found it off craigslist, so if anyone needs help with housing, definitley check them out! If we get this place, it would be absolutely perfect. Now all I need to do this summer is still find a summer job. Which hopefully will work out too. So right now I am at my friends house playing Wii. It's so addicting.

So I built my preferred list for classes next year. This should be funny since I am last in line. It's kind of what happens when you have a W for a last name. I talked to my professors that teach the class I want to take next year, and hopefully it will all work out. I am actually really excited for next year. It should be a good year.

So updates on my car: it is in the shop getting everything all fixed and ready to drive. I am soo excited to get my car! It should take 2-3 weeks.

I was helping out one of my friends make a song on Garageband the other day and the song came out amazing! I like making music off of Garageband. It's something I am actually pretty good at.

Okay it's my turn at Wii and I am getting yelled at for holding it up. Peace!

Easter Vacation...

Hey everyone, hope your having a good vaca. So, I am currently home, in bed, watching the Bourne movies being a bum, attempting to get some work done. I actually did most of it so I happy. I actually had to go to civil court today because I got called for jury duty. So I ride my bike all the way there and then when I'm going through security, I find out I lost all my papers, including the proof of attendance I had to get out of it! I had to ride to another building, and talk to this woman, but thankfully it all worked out.

So on the brighter side, my cousin is giving me a car!!! I am so happy about that!!! I realized I'm going to need a car real soon for next year, and I remembered he had a bunch and wanted to get rid of a few, so I called him, and he had one waiting for me!!! I was so thrilled!!! It's a 96 Mercury Grand Marqui. It's like those black taxi cars. Actually it is one of those black taxi cars exactly lol. The lucky part is that if my mom likes it, she will take that one and then I will get the civic!!! So lets keep our fingers crossed on that one.

So I went onto Web Advisor today and finally looked at my midterm grades. I actually did pretty good! There was only one class I got a N/G, which just happened to be the class I was most worried about but oh well. I still did good in all of my other classes, so it's good news for mom. Speaking of classes, I did an article for the Spectrum on how three students won an art competition, and I did a whole article about that but I got really into it, and looked at all of the winners nation-wide, and some of the art work is really amazing, I really suggest you check out this website with all of the winners: http://www.soicompetitions.org/. There you just click on see all winners.

Here are the winners from our school:

"James Dean"

Oh and for some publicity for the newspaper, go and pick up the Spectrum this thurday when we come back!!!

On a worried note, I have been on this computer for hours trying to find a good internship this summer, and it almost seems impossible! All I honestly want in an internship is to work on a film set, even if I get coffee I don't really care, but it just seems like all of the internships is with a company rather than the actual film. It's frustrating. Since I want to work in film, but don't know specifically yet what I want to do, I figure I should work on a film set, but it's so hard to find out where I can get a job on one. My cousin does lighting sometimes, so maybe I'll ask him.

Well, time to put in the next movie. Hope everyone has a good break! Keep Li/oving.

Spring Break

So, it's about the end of spring break. Well I didn't go away anywhere tropical, I stayed on Long Island. I did go on a little trip with one of my best friends, Brittany to visit our other best friend Steph. It was actually a lot of fun. Anyone who lives out in Long Island knows how the weather was, rain, sunny and nice, then rain again. It was all over the place. We played a LOT of Rockband and ate a LOT of food. Her mom cooks amazing dinners! When we actually left the house, we went shopping. I got two pairs of sneakers, I really especially like the new converses I bought. For those of you who know me, you know I have a terrible habit of biting my nails. Well, while I was in Long Island I thought it would be a good idea to get tips. That is never going to happen again. My friends tried to bet me to keep them on for two weeks. It wasn't too bad except I couldn't play guitar with my new nails. So I went to a nail salon near my house today and they took them off. It felt so good to have my own short nails back. I feel like myself again. I also saw a couple of my old friends this vacation. It was good to catch up. I haven't seen one of my friends since elementary school, it was nice to see old friends. So I am currently watching the Oceans 13 in the background. I have just gotten hooked on the Ocean movies, although I am missing twelve, Ive seen it, I just don't own it yet. I can't wait to get back to school and see my friends again. Although only for a week. I really wish we had the two weeks off in a row instead of the one week we are back. Well I now have to write a paper on the future of polar bears. Yeah, I know, awkward subject, but it was the only thing I could think of. Later.

Work...

It's all I have had this entire week. Two papers, a test, an essay, a project, and now to add to it, a midterm, and another essay. Actually two now that I remember. Ugh. I don't know how it works, but I think just for laughs, all the work I need to do for all of my classes seems to get assigned all in the same week. FUN! At least I handed in most of my Bermuda forms. My mom came up to sign them. She had to come up because apparently on the forms, when your parents sign them, it has to be notarized. Luckily Mary Lou Roof, the one who is in charge of study abroad for students, just happens to be one. So I have my plane ticket all set, most of the forms done, next is just waiting for the bill for the class credits to come. Thankfully, that won't be in for a while. I sent out my first resume for an internship. Hopefully I'll hear back from them. I sent it to the Charlie Rose Show. I plan on sending more, I just need time, which I don't currently have a lot of, to fix my cover letter. I am actually excited for this weekend though because my best friend from home will probarbly be comming up to visit me. He came to visit me last year, but he hasn't been up yet this year. I'm just hoping he can get the time off work. So tomorrow morning I plan on getting up extra early because I need to get the concert tickets. It should really be a really good show. This is the first concert I'm excited about since the Goo Goo Dolls. That was an amazing show! Well I am actually at my job right now and now I have work to do. Later. Keep Li/oving.

It's Snowing!!!

It is snowing a lot! I took a nap when it just started and I woke up and their is so much snow on the ground there is one of those guys on that mini tractor shoveling away the snow. So last weekend I went home. I had a lot to do and I felt like seeing my mom and surprising her with a visit. Well she was definitley surprised. She liked the visit a lot, she wasn't expecting me at all. I spent the whole weekend pretty much doing work. This weekend will probarbly turn out the same way. I have two papers, a test and an article to do, plus work, plus my homework for my 7 classes, plus cla, plus rugby is starting, so I will be stretched very thin for a while. This weekend is definitley a working weekend, at least one day needs to be. So the assistant director of the bands, Chuck Bennedum is leaving. It's really sad because he' s a really cool guy who makes band bareable. The band is throwing a goodbye party, and I need to bake chocolate chip cookies for the party. I also had my first meeting for my study abroad trip to Bermuda. I am going in May, the 23-29, and I am so excited for it. I had a meeting with the professor in charge Dr. Block, and Mary Lou Roof, she is in charge of the whole study abroad department. They pretty much explained everything that we would be doing, and I got to meet two other guys that are going on the trip. There are SO MANY forms I need to fill out in order to go. I already bought my plane ticket, and once I hand in my $200 monday its official that I am going!!! I have never been anywhere like Bermuda before, the closest I have ever been would be Key West this past Christmas break... That was fun too... highly recommend it for a trip...  Today I went to the bookstore and I remembered I had this old giftcard and I got myself an much needed new sweatshirt on clearance for $20, which as many of you know is really cheap for a SHU sweatshirt. There are still a few left if your interested. I got a red one but they also have them in gray, and they have hoods and a little SHU logo on the left side. So my dorm room itself happens to be like 35 degrees colder than the rest of the suite. It is pretty ridiculous. In the beginning of the year we noticed there was something wrong with the windows, and they wrote it down so we wouldn't get charged for them, but now that its winter, the problem is causing our room to turn into an igloo. We called maintanence so hopefully they will come soon. So friday I am getting excited for because me and my best friend are going to century 21 to go and find someone to help us find a house for next year!! I am really excited to get a house with my best friends. It means I also need to get a car this summer too!!! I really need to get an internship, and a job to help pay for one though.. Well now I am going to fix my resume, and my cover letter. Bbyes. Keep Li/oving. P.S. Pray for a snow day!

Procrastinating...

Ha. That is exactly what I am doing right now. I am procrastinating my long read for my media studies class. But at least I am putting my procrastination to good use. I am fixing my horrendus resume thanks to Career Development (WHEN YOU NEED HELP WITH YOUR RESUME GO THERE!!!). They were such a huge help. They gave me a format for me to fill out so I could build my resume and then I came back after I filled it out and they helped me polish it all up so I can start sending them. Now I just need to work on a cover letter. It takes so much work just to get an internship. So I guess a big issue today is the whole political election that is just getting bigger and bigger. I didn't go to the McCain rally on sunday. I am not big on politics but I know enough to know McCain isn't for me. Though I still do not know who I am going to vote for, I'll probarbly end up knowing when it's down to the finals. One thing that I do think is really important now that I am old enough, is going out there and voting on election day. Now I know a lot of poitcal science majors know that it isn't about the popular votes, but the electoral. Still, it doesn't matter if the popular votes are less important, the important thing is that as an American citizen we go out and support the democratic action of voting. I just think that its more than who you want in office, but the fact that we are able to choose, and and declare our choice is just as important. Anyways, in other hot topics, especially in this campus, I have been coming across on the topic of housing. Personally, I am planning to get a house next year and live with a few of my friends off campus. We just need to figure out in what area do we want to live in and start going out there and looking. We are going to try and find someone to help us search, like a real estate agent or a broker or someone like that... Okay so the big talk from this weekend wasn't McCain, but of course the Superbowl. I was on the fence. I am a Patriots fan, but being from Queens, I had to also cheer for the Giants. They played an amazing game. That was a pretty exciting game to watch. This was the first Superbowl that I really celebrated. My roomate and me went to her friends house where we cooked all the Superbowl foods, wings, chili, heroes, chips, cupcakes, piglets in a blanket (i helped with that one :P ), I definitley had a good time, met some awesome people and had a great time. I definitley want to go all out from now on, it seems like the only great way to watch the Superbowl. Ok enough procrastinating, time to read. Keep li/oving.

My Juno Article!!!

So I am really excited! My first article I wrote for my News, Writing, and Reporting class, my first article I've pretty much ever written, for something serious, is in the Spectrum!!! Its in the arts and entertainment section. Its a movie review on "Juno". It actually wasnt that hard to write. I wrote it last week, but completely forgot that it could be in the Spectrum. It feels aweosme to know that people are reading something that I has my name on it. It was even better because they didnt switch too much around. I really like this class alot. Its fun to be a part of this. You write for the Spectrum, and then have a side job for the class like circulation, photography, advertising, etc... Im part of the photography comittee. This class is a lot of work in a short time, but its still pretty fun, its not like a conventional lecture class. The structure pretty much is, we get our topic on thursday, and its due by sunday. Since Im part of the photography comittee, my pictures are due sunday too. But after sunday Im all done with my work for the class. Its pretty easy. Well my break is about to end so till next time! GO PICK UP THIS WEEKS SPECTRUM! Or you can view it here http://media.www.sacredheartspectrum.com/media/storage/paper747/news/2008/01/31/AE/juno-Skips.The.Sentiment.And.Enduldges.In.Sarcasm-3176961.shtml... Keep li/oving...
