Matthew left me :(. Reality finally hit me on December 6th at 8:30 on my walk to class. Naturally, I felt the need to email my brother, Joseph, on my walk to school. Macroeconomics was the class that I was walking to and made me dread going to school even more. Thanks to my brother Joe, becuase I would not have made it through that day. The email I recieved back from my brother was enough to bring me to tears. Going through this study abroad experience, I have learned so much about myself and my friends. Many people have shown their true colors to me while being here in Rome. With this being said, my brother brought me to tears with his email back to me. I take for grated how wonderful my family is to me.
(One of my really close friends here, Heather. We decided that, since we didn't take any pictures together this semester, every day we needed at least 5. This quickly got out of hand.)
It is starting to become really hard to focus on schoolwork while being in Rome. ( Clearly, I should be studying right now, instead I am blogging.)
School was closed on the 8th for Holiday. I went on a 6 hour walk with my friend and SAW THE POPE riding down via delle corso. It was definitely one of the highlights of my semester! He was dressed all in red and looked like a little Santa. It was such a cool experience. After we saw him, reality hit me, and I realized I just saw the most famous person in Rome :).
The best picture I could get. I was in such shock, I could not get my camera out in time!
The rest of the weekend was filled with amazing nights and great friends. To anyone who is studying abroad or planning to visit Rome: places that need to be visited at night include Stairs in Trastevere and La Boticella near Piazza Navona. MUST GO. Stairs is the bar where I have become great friends with the bartender. She is someone I will seriously miss when I go home.
