The Little Moments
First off it feels nice to write my first blog in three years and be able to reflect upon how much I've grown and changed since I entered Sacred Heart University. Its funny to see what topics I found important enough to cast out upon all of you who view these blogs. I think being able to write three years removed from freshman you is an amazingly lucky thing, and I know I personally will love to be able to look back at the end of this year and compare my freshman to senior year.
Anyways, the main reason I was posting my first blog was because of the inspiration I had to write after this weekend. On Saturday many seniors at Sacred Heart went to Mohegan Sun Casino to watch our men's basketball team face our cross town rivals Fairfield. While the game was closely contested, it was the after-game activities that stick in my head. Being able to be in a spot such as Mohegan Sun where there are casino, nightclubs, restaurants and bars, and being able to share that experience with some of your fellow classmates is an amazing feeling. I got to spend time with people who I've known since Freshman year but haven't really gotten to hang out with as much as I'd like. You know as you grow up and experience different things in life, you come across moments that hold signficance far beyond any grade you receive, or project you spend hours upon hours doing. There's moments that come to define being young and alive and free. Nights like Saturday night will live on far beyond a college degree and first time jobs. Those moments that you can spend with friends and classmates are the nights that live on and on. The little moments are the most special.
So Remember the journey is the destination, and as Ferris Bueller once said, " Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." Until next time I'm out
