Hi All,
I hope you are all enjoying the summer weather and summer fun!
Congratulations to the Graduating Class of 2010 here at Sacred Heart University! Luckily, in education, with every "farewell" comes a "welcome"...Welcome Class of 2014! Our incoming Freshmen have graduated high school and most have attended orientation by now. Many are choosing their roommates as we speak...oh the excitement! Who will bring the TV? Who will get which side of the room?
To our incoming freshmen, do feel free to keep in touch with your Admissions Counselor with any questions or concerns over the summer. We're still here!
To the Juniors in High School finishing up the year and starting to think about college, welcome to the process! If you're looking for a time line, by now you should have in mind who will write your recommendations (Guidance Counselor in addition to teachers, coaches, employers), what your essay will be about, and where you want to look at and apply. The Common Application will be opening later this summer, but you have many wonderful colleges to visit in the mean time. The northeast is simply peppered with options: urban, suburban, rural, large, medium, and small! Visiting a college is the best way to put yourself in the environment that may become your home for the next four years. Explore all options to narrow down your list of schools to apply to. Remember, college is a match to be made, not a prize to be won!
Here at SHU, we offer tours Monday through Saturday (excluding a few days and major summer holidays as the website explains). We welcome interviews after tour times Monday through Friday if you book in advance as well! Monday through Friday, our tours begin at 10 AM, 12 PM, and 2 PM. On Saturdays, we offer a 12 PM tour. Further more, we're not far from the beach so a summer visit is not a bad idea! Head over to the "Admissions-Undergraduate Full-time-Visit Now" section of the website and get started or call (203) 371-7881. Our summer tour guides are ready for you!
For those of you just beginning the college process, feel free to look up your Admissions Counselor in the "Meet the Staff" section of the website. We all represent different areas of the world so that we get to know you through the process before we read your application. Look up which counselor represents your area and give us a call or email. Like I said, we're here!
More to come as the summer moves on, but feel free to post questions about SHU or the college process!
Until next time, friends!
I liked this post very much as it has helped me a lot in my research and is quite interesting as well. Thank you for sharing this information with us.
