We safely landed in Shannon around 7:00 AM local time and boarded a bus that drove us out to Dingle town. There we became more aquatinted with Mr. Sean Paul and settled in to our new homes away from home. I, along with the three other male students, live in House 1, the last door on the left. After unpacking, we all went into town for lunch and dinner.
The next day, Sunday, the we all went on a hill walk to go see Eask Tower. The weather was fairly overcast, but thankfully the rain held off! When we reached the top of the hill, I really got to see beautiful this place is. Endlessly rolling hills on one side contrasted by a cliff face leading out into a blue infinity. Between these two awesome sights sits Dingle town, which looks like a Christmas village from the vantage point at the top of the hill. (My housemates Aidan, Ian, and Brian also shown in photo). Eask Tower was built during the famine to give Irish folk a job to do that they could be paid for in either food or money. After taking lots of pictures, we walked back down the hill, leaving behind sights we won't soon forget.
Today, Monday, we got to see the classrooms that we will be using and were given an orientation about rules, safety, food vouchers, and activities about town. I cannot wait to experience all this town has to offer.
