Last weekend, a dear friend of mine from my hometown who happens to be studying in Madrid this semester came to visit Alicante! On Friday we were able to go to the beach, which was great for her considering Madrid isn't near the water and she got to enjoy the view of the Mediterranean Sea. We also hiked up to the top of the castle and enjoyed a stroll along the Alicante Port. On Sunday, we took the tram to Benidorm, which is located on the outskirts of Alicante. I heard a lot about Benidorm, but hadn't ventured to see it yet. And it definitely lived up to its expectations, it was beautiful! It was a lovely day as well. The sea and skies were a clear blue. There is a zoo, an aquarium, boating, sight seeing, parks and a huge beach. The beach was more beautiful than Alicante's, meaning that I will be back for a wonderful beach day soon. Benidorm is filled with small streets containing neat shops and restaurants. The views were incredible and it was a day well spent. I will definitely be going back because there is so much to do in Benidorm and one day is not nearly enough!
Also, time has not slowed down. I cannot believe it is the middle of March already! It amazes me that I have already seen so many incredible places in Spain, yet there are a million more to see. There just isn't enough time here! Spring break is in just over two weeks which also means... my family will be here very shortly and I am so excited! I am so ready to see them and show them around Spain!
